This medication is used in the treatment of hair loss in men. It is particularly effective for male patterned baldness which occurs on the middle of the scalp. Proscar works by preventing testosterone from converting to DHT.
This medication is also used in reducing the size of an enlarged prostate in men. It also lowers the symptoms associated with this ailment. For instance, it reduces the urgency to urinate, and the frequency in which an individual urinates. It also improves the flow from the bladder and reduces nighttime urination.
