Description
Noroxin is a drug that is classified as a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It is used in the treatment of bacterial infections.
This medication works by killing bacteria vulnerable to it.
Important data
If you are currently pregnant or plan on becoming pregnant during treatment, make sure you tell your doctor before taking Noroxin.
If you are currently on any medication for any condition, whether the drugs are pharmaceutical or herbal, tell your doctor.
Talk to a physician if you are allergic to anything including food and other medication.
If you have a condition like a stomach infection, hepatic conditions, brain and nervous system conditions, muscular problems, brain pressure, Alzheimer’s, and seizures, tell your doctor.
Talk to a doctor before taking it if you also have severe diarrhea, heart attacks, anemia, and sensitive skin, or if you have joint problems, arthritis, renal issues and a transplant. Tell a doctor if you are on any corticosteroids and are an athlete.
If you are on a course of NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, do not take this medicine as it can put you at greater risk of experiencing side effects.
Do not take with corticosteroids as they can increase the risk of tendon damages, or with nitrofurantoin as it can impact how effective Noroxin is.
Drugs like caffeine, warfarin and other anticoagulants as well as SNRIs such as sulfonylureas should not be taken with Noroxin.
Any vaccines such as smallpox may have their effectiveness impacted when taken while taking a course of Noroxin.
Dosage
Always take Noroxin exactly as you have been told to by your doctor in the prescription. Do not deviate from your doctor’s instructions in any way.
Take this medication before you eat. The perfect timing would be about 2 hours after a meal or after ingesting milk.
Take the pill with an entire glass of water. Always drink a lot of fluids while on this medication. Do not take magnesium, calcium or iron supplements up to 2 hours after taking this pill.
Take it for the entirety of your treatment course. Do not stop taking Noroxin just because your symptoms have receded.
Missed doses and overdose
If you miss a dose of this medication take it as soon as you remember. If you are about to take the next dose, ignore the one you missed. Never take a double dose to make up for it.
If you overdose on this medication, call emergency services immediately.

Call your doctor immediately if you experience these.
Contraindications
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredients or if you experience an allergic reaction.
Stop taking it if you have tendonitis or if you have a rupture in a tendon.
If you are taking medicine to combat arrhythmia do not take this medication.
