Description
Eriacta is a drug that contains sildenafil as its main ingredient. It increases the human response to sexual arousal by relaxing the muscles of target areas.
Eriacta achieves this using nitric oxide to flood the system. This allows for smoother relaxing of the target muscles, which increases the supply of blood in the penis.
It is used to treat erectile dysfunction as well as hypertension in the pulmonary artery in men. It may also be used for prescription off-label purposes.
Important data
Before taking Eriacta or any other drug containing sildenafil, you should tell your doctor. If you are allergic to the ingredients, never take the medication.
Sensitivity to Eriacta is affected by the age of the patient. People over the age of 60 are more vulnerable to side effects.
Meals that have a high concentration of fat can alter the time over which this medication takes effect on the body. Never eat any food products containing grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while you are being treated with Eriacta.
Dosage
Take Eriacta about an hour before you engage in any sexual activity. Never take Eriacta more than once every 24 hours.
The usual initial dose is 50mg once daily on an as-needed basis. This can be increased to 100mg or reduced to 25mg for maintenance.
For people older than 65 years of age, the initial dose is 25mg taken orally once a day at least 1 hour before getting sexually intimate.
If prescribed for Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, follow the directions on the prescription exactly. Never take larger or smaller doses than you have been advised to.
Missed doses and overdose
If you miss a dose, you aren’t going to be affected unless it has been prescribed. If you miss a scheduled dose, you must take it when you remember.
If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed. Never take extra doses of Eriacta to make up for a missed dose.
In the case of an overdose, make sure you call your local poison hotline immediately. Contact emergency medical services as well.
