Clarinex (Desloratadine)

Description

Clarinex says goodbye to all histamine problems like continuous sneezing, watery eyes, itching, and runny nose. Histamine is nothing but a substance which is produced inside our body and excess of Yi created such problems for us. This drug blocks its production and easies such symptoms.

Important information

Take this medication as prescribed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. Children less than 2 years must not be given this drug. If need arises to do so then, take your doctor’s permission first. Breast feeding and pregnant women must keep in touch with their gynecologist so as to prevent any serious side effect or problems. Have an exhausting discussion with your medical professional to know about this drug, dosage and side effects and also, to let him know what all other prescription you are on.

Before taking this medicine

Clarinex is not suitable for people who are going through liver and kidney problems so, such patients must discuss their medical history and medicines with their doctor so to get better suggestions and prescription.

This drug passes into breast milk so, women must take extra care of their growing child. Gynecologist/physician must be consulted in such cases. Pregnant women must also give special attention on dosage of this medicine before going on this. Less than 2 years children must not be treated with this drug.

If you are allergic to loratadine (Claritin) or desloratadine then, this medicine is not meant for you; Ask for some alternative from your doctor.

How should I take Clarinex?

Go through all the instructions that are given on the back of this medicine or on the leaflet that comes along with it. You can even ask your physician to know in detail and follow his instructions.

Generally, it is taken once in a day with or without food. Do not increase or decrease the dose at your own.
In case you are taking tablet then, swallow it as it is with water.

In case you are taking it in liquid form then, shake it well, measure it exact and then take. Measuring task can be done with device that you can buy from pharmacy store very easily.

Prevent this drug from moisture and heat and keep tablets wrapped in packing.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Take your next planned dose and if you have enough time left for the next dose then, take missed immediately. Do not over do this drug so to make up for the missed dose. In case of any uneasiness, contact your doctor immediately.

What happens if I overdose?

Overdose of this can cause fast heart beats, nausea, tiredness, sore throat and upsetting of stomach.

This drug do causes various side effects if taken more in quantity like:

 Tiredness
 Diziness
 Nausea
 Fast heart beats/ pounding
 Jaundice
 Seizures
 Muscles pulling and pain
 Fever/flu
 Sore throat, Drying of mouth etc

Doctor must be immediately contacted if any of such symptoms arises.
