Description

Bactroban is an antibiotic that occurs naturally. The ingredient that is most active is mupirocin.

Uses

Bactroban is used to treat bacterial infections that occur on the surface of the skin. It is typically used to treat ailments such as impetigo or staph infections that occur on the skin. Bactroban works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria on the skin. There are certain proteins that are required in the proliferation of bacteria. Bactroban prevents protein synthesis and RNA synthesis from occurring in bacteria that is present on the skin. This causes the bacteria to produce proteins that are faulty and not conducive to reproduction. This results in the eventual death of the bacteria.

Dosage
