Description
Adcirca, also known by the main ingredient tadalafil, is a muscle relaxant which is targeted at specific parts of the human body. It relaxes blood vessels to increase the flow of blood to the target parts of the body.
Treatment for hypertension in the pulmonary artery is done using Adcirca, along with making it easier for both men and women to exercise longer and harder.
Important data
Tell your doctor before you take Adcirca especially if you are currently on any other medication regardless of brand or ingredients.
Adcirca usage is not recommended if you are currently on any nitrate medication. These are common heartburn and chest problem treatments.
Common nitrate drugs include nitroglycerin, isosorbide mononitrate, and illegal drugs like ecstasy. Remember that Adcirca with these drugs can result in acute low brood pressure.
A common result of taking this medicine is that the optic nerve has a lower blood supply to it. This can lead to blurry or no vision.
People with eye problems and arterial ailments are more susceptible to this kind of effect. People who smoke or are over 50 years of age are also more at risk.
Adcirca has not been proven to be harmful to unborn children in the womb. If you are a woman and you plan on becoming pregnant soon, tell your doctor anyway.
The effect of Adcirca on nursing children is currently unknown. Make sure you tell a doctor if you are currently nursing a child.
Dosage
The common dosage for Adcirca is a regular daily dose, once a day. If the drug has been prescribed to you, follow all of the doctor’s instructions.
Never take Adcirca in larger (or lower) doses than has been recommended. You can, however, take it regardless of mealtimes.
Always take the Adcirca tablet as it is. Do not break it, cut it or chew it. Store the pills at room temperature away from direct sunlight or heat.
Adults (for hypertension)
One 40mg tablet every day. Do not split the dosage into two halves a day. Swallow Adcirca whole and in one go.
Missed doses and overdose
If you miss a dose of Adcirca, make sure you take it when you know you have. If it is the next day and your next dose time is near, ignore the one you missed.
Never take extra Adcirca doses to make up for the missed dose. This could result in an overdose. If this happens, call your local poison hotline and EMS.
